By accessing or using the Project Combustion: Junior Scientists Club website, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. This website is intended to:

  • Share club-related updates and resources

  • Accept sign-ups from parents/guardians for student participation

  • Display student work, photos, and videos (with consent)

  • Promote enrichment opportunities aligned with the Science Fair & Showcase
     

🧒 2. Eligibility & Parental Consent

This website is intended for use by parents, guardians, and educators. It is not intended to be accessed or used by minors without the direct supervision of a parent or guardian.

All registrations, consent forms, and agreements must be completed by a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly allow minors under 13 to submit personal information without verified parental consent, in compliance with COPPA and D.C. privacy laws.
 

📋 3. Submissions & Membership Agreements

By submitting forms, signing up for club activities, or enrolling a student in the program, you:

  • Agree to the terms outlined in the Student Membership & Parent/Guardian Agreement

  • Grant consent for the collection and use of information as outlined in the Privacy Policy

  • Acknowledge that Project Combustion is an independent enrichment club, not sponsored by DCPS or any other D.C. school system
     

🖼️ 4. Media, Content, and Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including images, logos, documents, and student work (when displayed), is the property of Project Combustion: Junior Scientists Club or used with permission.
 

You may not:

  • Reproduce, copy, or republish any part of the site without written permission

  • Download or distribute student photos or videos without express authorization

  • Impersonate or misuse any club materials, logos, or communications
     

⚠️ 5. Liability Disclaimer

Project Combustion: Junior Scientists Club is operated independently by educators Larry Pretlow II and Jorge Santiago. While they are DCPS employees, this program is not operated by, sponsored by, or affiliated with DCPS or any D.C.-based school system.
 

By using this site or enrolling a student in the club, you acknowledge and agree that:
 

  • The operators do not act as agents of DCPS or any other school

  • DCPS and the operators are free of liability for any activities outside of DCPS-sponsored hours or property

  • You, as a parent/guardian, assume full responsibility for voluntary participation
     

🔧 6. Modifications & Termination

The club operators reserve the right to:
 

  • Change or update the website, its contents, or these Terms at any time

  • Suspend or terminate access to club activities, programs, or services in cases of misuse, inappropriate conduct, or failure to follow the club’s rules

  • Deny further participation if the safety, respect, or mission of the club is compromised
